So my dad originally says yes I can get it. I go through everything, get a quote on a paint job, shipping, etc.

Then he says no. THANKS DAD.

His reasoning is the same as always. "Not stock"

I know. He wants to give it performance upgrades, but doesn't care about suspension upgrades and does not want to change it's looks at all. Yeah. He's that guy.

All power, no handling, that's how it should be, merica.

I really wish he would understand that making it look better with L-tuned parts (which were sold at Lexus dealers!!!) and 2nd gen IS wheels (Also a true LEXUS part!!!) is needed just as much as performance.

So fitting it's not even funny. I also like how my parents call me a bum but don't think I should get an actual job. Yes dad, I don't like doing dumb odd jobs for you, but that doesn't mean I'm a bum.

Go get a job if you really want to. Your dad sounds a lot like mine does. My dad still gives me crap when I mod my car. He knows whatever he says means nothing to me at all because I'm paying for the car, and the mods. He didn't want to me work while I was in school, but I wanted to make money so I went and got a job. He didn't try to make me quit that job, I don't think any parent would.

Do it, what are they going to do? Punish you for being fiscally responsible? If you earn the cash then you have the final say in what to do with it. It is one thing for them to back out from spending their own cash on something they promised, it is another thing entirely to tell you how to spend yours.

Well my dad technically still owns the car so...he doesn't want it to look anything but stock. So until I pay him off he can do what he wants...
